About the job
About Us
At Beaver Health, we’re building technology to tackle the global aging and caregiving crisis. As the population ages, the number of people living with conditions like dementia is rapidly increasing, placing significant burdens on family caregivers. Our platform, backed by Harvard Innovation Labs, the National Institutes of Health, and winner of the 2024 Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, is focused on improving the quality of life for aging adults while reducing the stress on caregivers.
We’re developing AI-powered tools that provide cognitive support and expert caregiving advice to help families manage the complexities of caring for loved ones with dementia and other chronic conditions. We are a small, dedicated team passionate about making a real difference, and we’re looking for a founding engineer who shares our vision.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on full-stack engineer who is mission-driven, loves problem-solving, and has the grit and perseverance to build something meaningful from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for leading the development of our core product, with significant ownership over how our technology evolves. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a product that addresses critical challenges in healthcare and impacts people’s lives directly.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience (using TypeScript, Node.js, React/Solid.js, and cloud platforms like Azure).
- Experience with applied AI: Retrieval-augmented generation, conversational AI, Dialog, NLP, ASR, and TTS.
- Motivated by purpose: You want to work on something that truly matters and are driven by the desire to solve tough problems in the healthcare space.
- Independent and reliable: You take ownership of your work, see things through, and collaborate well in a team-oriented, remote-first environment.
What We Offer
An opportunity to be a founding member of the team and play a critical role in shaping the future of our product.
Health, vision, dental benefits.
A remote-first work culture with the flexibility to collaborate in person in the Bay Area if desired.
The opportunity to build something that can genuinely improve lives and have a profound social impact.
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to see your resume, portfolio, and code samples. Send them to [email protected]. Let’s work together to solve the aging and caregiving crisis.
