The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to join our team in the manufactured home/chattel lending and servicing sector. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our operations align with applicable regulations and standards as well as coordinating compliance and risk related projects across the company to ensure successful completion and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in state and federal regulations related to chattel loan origination and servicing operations. Assess the impact of regulatory changes on company policies and procedures.
Project Management: Lead compliance-related projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement compliance initiatives effectively.
Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on regulatory developments, industry trends, and best practices. Analyze existing policies and procedures to identify gaps and recommend enhancements.
Policy and Procedure Development: Draft, revise, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to reflect regulatory requirements and company objectives.
Regulatory Exams Assistance: Assist with regulatory examinations and audits. Compile and organize documentation, reports, and data requested by regulators.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but not required. Compliance certifications are a plus.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, preferably in the manufactured home/chattel lending space.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of regulations governing manufactured home/chattel lending and servicing.
Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly convey complex regulatory requirements to team members and stakeholders.
