The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Director of UX Research to join our UX and Marketing Research team. This role will lead and inspire a team of qualitative and quantitative researchers whose insights drive vision and product direction. As a core part of the research leadership team, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams in Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to shape the future of AI-powered communication assistance.

As Director of UX Research for the Core Product and Trust & Enterprise research teams, your focus will be on fostering a culture of trust, curiosity, and continuous growth while ensuring operational excellence and research rigor are at the forefront of your team’s practice. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and inclusivity, empowering your team to produce high-quality, actionable research.
  • Foster a Learning and Growth Culture: Create structured opportunities for feedback, skill-sharing, and peer learning within the team.
  • Drive Strategic Research Impact: Align research efforts with business goals and deeply influence product roadmaps, prioritization, and user-centered decision-making across the organization.
  • Build Cross-Functional Partnerships: Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders in Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing. Collaborate to ensure research insights are embedded into every stage of product development.
  • Influence Organizational Mindset: Champion a research-driven approach that serves the business and its users, influencing long-term product and company strategies.

Qualifications

  • Has 8-10+ years of experience in user research in an industry setting, with a solid foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Has 5+ years of experience managing high-performing research teams, with a proven ability to develop talent and foster an inclusive, high-performing research team.
  • Proven experience in driving strategic research impact, influencing product strategy, and fostering cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong ability to operationalize research through effective processes and frameworks, scaling a team’s impact while maintaining rigor and efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into actionable insights that influence senior leadership.
  • A human-centered and data-driven approach to leadership, prioritizing team well-being and growth alongside operational and business success.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, confidently presenting research direction and rationale to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is inspired by our MOVE principles: move fast and learn faster; obsess about creating customer value; value impact over activity; and embrace healthy disagreement rooted in trust.
