Flat for Education, created by Tutteo Ltd. is an one stop shop music education platform that provides teachers all over the globe with powerful and intuitive tools to enhance the teaching experience.
We believe that the old-fashioned sheet music industry has come to a point where it needs to be renewed. Through Flat for Education and our different products, we define a new way to write, teach and consume written music.
We are looking for a full-time Edtech Sales Representitive to help raise awareness and drive customer acquisition across the country.
Context
You will be joining a radical team of doers, fully distributed. All founders are developers, we believe in the power of good products. We have launched to date 4 growing and profitable products, gathering an active and engaged community of more than 6M users:
- Flat: our music score editor with web and mobile versions.
- Flat for Education: our music teaching platform aiming at making music education playful and engaging.
- Music Snippet: our music score add-ons for Google Docs and Google Slides.
- Flat Embed: our music score technology available for everyone to use.
What you will do
As a Sales Representative in Japan, your focus will be on expanding the reach of our education platform by raising awareness and acquiring new customers. You’ll introduce our platform to more schools and educators, helping them understand the unique value it brings to their classrooms while building strong relationships with them. You'll be identifying potential customers, meeting them, and handing them over to our engagement team at the optimal time. You’ll work closely with our Sales Director and Japanese Country Manager to enhance the visibility and adoption of Flat for Education.

🎩 Role and Responsibilities
- Drive awareness of our music education platform across Japan by identifying and engaging potential new customers.
- Build relationships with schools and educators, introducing them to the benefits of our platform.
- Conduct in-person meetings to present product demos and highlight how our solutions can transform the music education experience.
- Nurture and guide prospects through the sales process, handing them over to the engagement team at the right stage.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and other educational events to showcase our products and build brand awareness.
- Conduct targeted market research to tailor your outreach strategy to the needs of Japanese educators.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine outreach strategies and optimise your approach.
- Maintain accurate records of your client interactions and progress using our CRM system.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in music and education technology to refine your approach.
- During the first 6 months, handle Japanese support requests to truly learn our user base.
🛠 What you need to be a good fit 🛠
You will be a good fit for the role if you have:
- Have proven sales experience, ideally within the EdTech space.
- Located in Tokyo or nearby.
- Understand the education technology landscape, with experience in music education being a strong plus.
- Are an excellent communicator, capable of building trust and rapport with educators and decision-makers.
- Are self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to acquiring new customers.
- Are experienced with CRM systems and sales tools to manage leads and track progress.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Are a native Japanese speaker with business-level English proficiency.
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring every customer interaction is well-documented.
