Senior QA Engineer

Location

• Atlanta, GA

This position requires being in-person at least 3 days a week in our Midtown, Atlanta office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with company goals; propose testing methodologies suitable for React Native, Expo, and Node.js
• Set up automated testing frameworks and environments; integrate tests into the CI/CD pipeline
• Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts; identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers to resolve issues
• Continuously assess and improve QA workflows; introduce best practices for code quality and testing
• Mentor developers on writing testable code
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation of QA processes, test cases, and findings
• Stay current with the latest QA tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Advocate for quality within the organization, ensuring user experience and product quality are prioritized
• Adapt to multiple roles in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proactively identify areas for QA improvements
• Maintain clear communication and facilitate knowledge sharing across all team members

Expectations

First Week

• Gain access to tools, repositories, and documentation and set up your environment
• Familiarize yourself with the MaxRewards app
• Review existing codebases and explore current QA processes
• Start reviewing PRs
• Identify quick wins for immediate improvement

First Month

• Create a detailed QA plan aligned with company goals
• Set up automated testing frameworks for our tech stack (React Native, Expo, Node.js)
• Write and execute test cases to improve code coverage
• Introduce best practices for code quality and testing
• Provide QA insights during code reviews and design discussions

First 3 Months

• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline
• Ensure testing is seamlessly integrated into development
• Conduct workshops on QA tools and best practices
• Implement performance and security testing
• Analyze data to identify improvement areas
• Continuously refine QA processes

First 6 Months

• Take ownership of the overall QA strategy and execution
• Collaborate closely with leadership on test planning
• Advocate for user experience improvements based on testing insights
• Prepare QA processes for increased workload and growth
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for product quality
• Regularly report QA metrics to stakeholders
• Develop a roadmap for future QA initiatives

Compensation

• $100K – $120K Base Salary
• 0.1% – 0.4% Equity Compensation
