Genius Sports is at the epicentre of the global network connecting sports, brands and fans through official live data. Our mission is simple. We champion a more sustainable sports data ecosystem that benefits all parties.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and ambitious people to join our talented team.
If you see yourself becoming part of a global family building the future of sports entertainment together, then come and grow with us.
We put trust in our people to deliver the difference for our clients around the world. It’s why many of the world’s largest leagues & federations such as the NFL, English Premier League, FIBA and NCAA choose to work with Genius Sports.
As part of the Genius Sports Group, headquartered in London and across 16 locations worldwide, our technology is trusted by the biggest name in sports, betting and gaming, and sports media.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Programme Manager (TPM) to oversee large-scale, cross-functional Programmes. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of managing large Programmes across various products and disciplines, handling multiple deliverables, and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders and partners.
This role will work closely with business, product, and technology leaders to drive Programmes from planning to execution, ensuring that goals align with business and client priorities while navigating complex technological and operational challenges.
A strong foundation in technology is essential—the TPM must have the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate technical concepts, as well as support our technical teams through the delivery cycle.
The TPM must be self-motivated with a drive to excel and capable of delivering results independently. Strong written and presentation skills and stakeholder management expertise are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the successful execution of cross-functional Programmes, working closely with leadership, product, engineering, operations, and clients/partners.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to define the Programme's goals, success criteria, deliverables, and outcomes.
Break down requirements into execution plans with clearly defined milestones, scope commitments, resource plans, and schedules.
Track and manage dependencies, blockers, and risks. Identify and execute mitigation strategies to prevent these from derailing the Programme's success.
Lead cross-functional meetings and work sessions, establish Programme operating rhythms, and ensure alignment across all contributing teams. Drive appropriate decisions and actions to keep Programmes on track despite uncertainty or aggressive deadlines.
Work with product, engineering, and operations teams on the technical delivery of products and services associated with the Programme.
Lead technology-focused discussions, help identify gaps and manage blockers that help mobilize the solutions team.
Translate and present technical concepts from a product and engineering perspective for a non-technical audience.
Craft communication of progress toward goals and deliverables—report status across different groups and workstreams. Proactively set expectations internally and externally and communicate potential risks or delays.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics. Collect, analyze, and share relevant data to inform decision-making and make Programme information visible to stakeholders.
Create and refine processes as needed, focusing on reliability, automation, scaling, and continuous improvement across Programmes.
Build strong relationships across teams and organizational boundaries.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Programme Management experience, including 5 or more years leading multiple complex technology-focused Programmes.
- Swiss/EU/EFTA citizen or residency permit in Switzerland
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical background in building platforms, products, or services.
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrable understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with agile software development methodologies and project management tools.
- Proven track record in delivering results in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Experience working with product managers and delivery teams to deliver incrementally against defined roadmaps and project plans.
- Understanding of technical solution design and development to enable project governance and execution.
- Understanding of build, test, acceptance, and issue/incident management processes.
- Experience collaborating with 3rd party technology/software providers.
- Experience with software projects, including full-release management.
- Ability to manage virtual teams and work across global time zones.
- Exceptional communication skills, conveying complex information to technical and executive-level audiences.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify issues early and recommend actionable solutions.
