As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Financia, you will be instrumental in shaping the company's technical vision and strategy, overseeing the technology team, and driving innovation to ensure the company remains at the cutting edge of fintech.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team. The CTO will lead Financia's technological development and ensure the alignment of technology strategies with business goals. You will oversee the development, execution, and management of our tech stack, ensuring that the platform is scalable, secure, and able to handle complex financial services. You will collaborate with other executives, investors, and stakeholders to support business growth, ensure a smooth user experience, and keep Financia at the forefront of fintech innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Vision:
Develop and execute Financia’s technology roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation. ○ Lead the overall architecture, technical design, and development of the Financia platform. ○ Research and implement new technologies that improve efficiency, security, and customer experience.
● Team Leadership:
○ Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing development and technical team. ○ Set performance standards and ensure continuous learning and growth within the tech department. ○ Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
● Product Development & Execution:
○ Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment. ○ Ensure the product development process is efficient and produces high-quality results, balancing speed and technical debt. ○ Work closely with product management and UX/UI teams to deliver a seamless user experience.
● Security & Compliance:
○ Ensure that all technical aspects of the platform comply with industry standards and legal regulations (such as data privacy, financial compliance, AML, KYC etc.). ○ Oversee data security strategies, ensuring the protection of sensitive customer data.
● Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
○ Collaborate with the CEO and other leadership to align technology goals with business strategy. ○ Present technical strategies and solutions to investors and stakeholders. ○ Drive partnerships with third-party vendors, tech platforms, and financial institutions to enhance platform capabilities.
● Budget & Resource Management:
○ Plan and manage the technical budget, ensuring cost efficiency. ○ Make decisions regarding the allocation of resources, technology stacks, and development tools. Must have a Security-First Mindset: ● Implementing end-to-end encryption for sensitive financial data, ensuring secure data storage and transmission. ● Utilizing multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other security measures to protect user accounts and transactions. ● Adopting role-based access control (RBAC) to manage user permissions and safeguard internal operations.
● Regulatory & Compliance:
Deep knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOX, or other relevant security frameworks. ● Ensuring that the application meets regulatory standards for data privacy, anti-money laundering (AML), and know your customer (KYC) protocols.
●Risk Management:
Experience in integrating fraud detection systems, using machine learning algorithms or AI to identify suspicious activities in real time. ● Designing and implementing systems to mitigate the risk of financial fraud, including transaction monitoring and anomaly detection. Secure API Integrations: ● Developing and maintaining secure connections between the application and third-party services, such as banking APIs, payment gateways, and credit bureaus. ● Implementing Auth 2.0 and token-based authentication to protect API interactions.
● Disaster Recovery:
Ensuring secure data storage using technologies like AES encryption and key management systems. Developing a robust disaster recovery plan (DRP) and business continuity plan (BCP) to ensure the application can recover from data breaches or system failures.
● Code Audits Penetration Testing:
Leading regular code audits and penetration testing to identify and resolve vulnerabilities. ● Collaborating with external security firms to conduct security assessments and stress tests on the platform. Incident Response: ● Establishing incident response protocols to handle security breaches or data leaks, ensuring quick mitigation and recovery. ● Keeping the platform updated with the latest security patches and best practices in cybersecurity.
Requirements
Experience:
<< Proven experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or in a similar leadership role, preferably in the fintech space.
<< 8+ years of experience in software development, with 4+ years in a leadership position.
<< Hands-on experience in building scalable, secure, and high-availability financial applications.
<< Strong knowledge of mobile app development, cloud architecture, API integrations, and security protocols.
