About the job

Guidewheel is successfully expanding beyond our traditional mid-market to Enterprise customers—and now, we’re seeking a skilled, intelligent, and entrepreneurial Enterprise salesperson to work hand-in-hand with our CEO to build and scale Guidewheel’s Enterprise Sales engine from the ground up.

The timing is right for this to be a life-changing role for the right person: Guidewheel’s platform that is poised to scale quickly in a massive untapped market, just closed an oversubscribed Series B and is backed by BlackRock, Greycroft, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and other top investors, a high-performing team and culture, and has all the ingredients to be a generational company. If the company is successful in achieving its potential, the equity included in this role can translate into multi-generational wealth and the experience you gain will be a step function in your career.

THE COMPANY

Guidewheel is on a mission to empower all the world’s factories to reach sustainable peak performance. Inspired by the simple, universal truth that every machine on the factory floor has a power cord, our plug-and-play FactoryOps platform makes the power of the cloud accessible to any factory. Guidewheel clips onto any machine to turn its real-time “heartbeat” into a connected, actively learning system that empowers teams to reduce lost production time, increase throughput, and perform better and better over time.

At Guidewheel we work with the factories that are the backbone of our economy, and you can have a real, on-the-ground impact right away. We have strong momentum and alignment around our mission, support from top investors, and a culture that values diversity, growth mindset, and results. And the tight link between our mission and our business model means that reaching more of the world’s 10 million factories accelerates our positive impact on the planet.

The Guidewheel team shares the following values:

  • Integrity matters: We are honest, straightforward and sincere. With each other. With our investors. With our customers
  • We (actually) care: About each other. About fighting climate change. About making a real impact
  • We use data to make decisions: We possess the courage to accept “hard truths” and confront challenges head-on
  • The power of growth mindset is real: We strive to be the best we can be; to achieve this we are committed to embracing change and expanding our capabilities

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Founding Enterprise Account Executive role is designed to be an intense high-growth, high-responsibility role founding and scaling a top-priority new Sales engine for Guidewheel. We are a scrappy team with a huge mission and opportunity in front of us, and your potential for impact in this role is vast.

  • This role will work closely with our CEO and should bring top-1% intelligence, drive, and horsepower. This is a perfect role for someone who has excelled in Enterprise sales, personally closing numerous $1M+ contracts, and who is ready to take their leadership to the next level by bringing a Founder mentality to this challenge.
  • Supported by Guidewheel’s leadership, this role will be the Founder of our Enterprise motion from the ground up: Identifying the key pain points Guidewheel solves for Enterprise, defining Guidewheel’s positioning for Enterprise, and building and scaling the Founding Sales motion for Enterprise.
  • The primary mission for this role starts with personally closing $1M+ Enterprise expansion deals for Guidewheel. You will carry a quota based on ARR generated and % of enterprise customer Plant Network covered, and will be hyper-focused on closing $1M+ wall-to-wall Enterprise expansions, documenting the learning, and turning it into a playbook that can scale. With success, you can earn the opportunity to hire and scale an Enterprise team under you.
  • While personally building and executing on account plans to close Enterprise deals, you will work hand-in-hand with Guidewheel’s CEO and other leadership to drive and build the marketing, Product, and other elements needed for a successful Enterprise engine. You will be personally responsible for coordinating the involvement of Product, Customer Success, Support, Executives, and other teams to ensure strong ROI and successful relationships while crushing your revenue goals, and should take extreme ownership of everything needed to drive ROI for our customers and close the deals.
  • As launching and scaling Enterprise is a top company priority, you’ll have resources at your fingertips—but scrappiness and an eagerness to build and actually do the work is a must.
  • Given that Enterprise should be 30%+ of Guidewheel’s revenue by Series C and 50% of revenue by IPO, the right person will be hungry for an all-in sprint for at least the next 18-24 months.
  • This role is remote-first, although you should expect significant travel to customers (likely at least 2-3 weeks of travel a month).

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • 7+ years of direct sales experience. You are a scrappy hunter who brings the grit and founder mindset needed to iterate and find product-market fit for Enterprise customers.
  • Proven track record of overachievement in complex accounts, with numerous examples of $1M+ transactions you have personally closed, including expansion opportunities in existing customer accounts.
  • Experience handling and owning Enterprise deal sizes and C-level relationships. Proven ability to sell into all levels of an enterprise organization with both technology and Operations leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial and driven. Wants to be part of a fast growing SaaS company, set high standards, and deliver world-class results, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability as needed in a startup environment.
  • Experienced with and eager to do strategic outbounding, and travel as needed to build stellar relationships.
  • Natural curiosity, and passion for manufacturing and experience selling into manufacturing and Operations (not IT).
  • Energetic evangelist passionate about introducing a transformative new technology into the market
  • Cross-functional leader. You should have proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership to develop sales metrics, Product functionality, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability thriving in a dynamic, fast paced environment. You should be thoughtful and fast, delivering results at both high velocity and high quality.
  • Clear, powerful communications. Can adeptly work with stakeholders both internally within the factories that we serve.
  • Top 1% intelligence and execution. Gets the big picture, relentlessly follows up on details when they matter.
  • Previous experience building and leading and Enterprise team is a nice-to-have, not a must. We are betting on your potential.
  • Delivers results at both high velocity and high quality.
  • Top-notch organization: Being able to prioritize, take initiative, communicate clearly, and manage many projects and workstreams simultaneously is critical.
  • Extreme ownership. Runs through walls to get it done.

What’s In It For You?

  • If you’re a top-performing Enterprise salesperson looking for high-growth, high-responsibility, high-intensity challenge to take your experience and career to the next level, this role could be for you.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to bring a founder mindset and build that muscle, with the support of a world-class team around you and working directly with Guidewheel’s CEO. Guidewheel is at an inflection point, and strong performance will open up opportunities to quickly take on significant leadership and responsibility.
  • The timing is right for this to be a life-changing role for the right person: Guidewheel’s platform that is poised to scale quickly in a massive untapped market, just closed an oversubscribed Series B and is backed by BlackRock, Greycroft, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and other top investors, a high-performing team and culture, and has all the ingredients to be a generational company. If the company is successful in achieving its potential, the equity included in this role can translate into multi-generational wealth and the experience you gain will be a step function in your career.
  • At Guidewheel, you’ll grow with a team that believes developing talent is important, and is building that as a core strength of the company from day one. You’ll grow with a team of international talent as a builder and leader of the organization, leading the way for future hires and mentoring new team members as they join.
  • You’ll drive immediate, tangible results for the company, the manufacturers that are the backbone of the economy, and the planet. The World Economic Forum has recognized Guidewheel’s solution as “one of the top technologies likely to have a significant impact on society and the planet.”

The Location: anywhere in North America. Guidewheel is a distributed team across 5 countries, and our expectation is to remain 100% remote-first for the foreseeable future. For this role, you’ll be working with a team on North American time zones and will need to travel extensively to spend in-person time with Enterprise customers.
