About the job
⚠️ Important Info - please read first
We anticipate it may take 6 months or more to find the ideal candidate for this role, as we’re seeking someone with a very specific set of skills and experience. At the start of the application process, you’ll be asked a few targeted screening questions to ensure alignment. If your application doesn’t meet the role’s requirements, we will notify you promptly rather than keep you waiting for months.
This role is Los Angeles based with some in-office days. You must be eligible to work in the USA already and either in Los Angeles or willing to move.
The Job
We’re looking for a Head of Growth to scale The ROSTR Group’s Sales, Marketing, and Support functions. This is a pivotal leadership role, where you will design and execute growth strategies across multiple products and markets globally. This role reports directly to the CEO and will be part of the group's leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
This is a cross-functional role overseeing marketing, sales and support across all of The ROSTR Group's current and future products. You will own the funnel from top-to-bottom; acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Some of the stuff you'll be responsible for:
- Driving revenue growth across all of The ROSTR Group’s product lines by leveraging strategic marketing, sales, and product enhancements.
- Leading, developing, and expanding our sales, marketing, and support teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Implementing a data-driven 360° marketing strategy across all channels (digital, partnerships, content, etc.) that optimizes acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Building a scalable sales organization that can adapt across different product lines and regions, with a focus on efficiency and performance.
- Developing and scaling new revenue streams for both existing and future products, continuously exploring opportunities for growth.
- Designing customer retention and support strategies to increase lifetime value, loyalty, and delight our customers.
- Leveraging customer insights and data to refine product positioning and marketing efforts, ensuring we’re meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Seems like a lot huh? It is. See below.
Who You Are
The ROSTR Group was forged during the pandemic. We’re a lean team that punches well above our weight every day. Everyone here takes on a lot of responsibility and wears more than one hat.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re looking for experienced people who are also incredibly hands-on. Yes, this role involves management, but it’s NOT just a management role.
To be a fit for this role, you should be:
- A “startup person,” not a corporate type.
- Incredibly data-driven - not just working with data, but comfortable in the systems that generate it. No one’s printing out reports for you here. In fact, the report probably doesn’t exist yet.
- Self-motivated and confident. Many of the responsibilities are being handed off directly from the CEO/co-founder, so you need to be ready to run with them.
- Willing to move fast and take risks. We always lean toward action and iteration. For example, we took Jobs by ROSTR from idea to launch in just three weeks.
- Adaptable. Things move fast here, and you’ll need to thrive in an environment where priorities shift quickly.
- Collaborative. While you’ll be working independently, you need to communicate and collaborate across teams to bring everything together.
- Ready to go all-in - not in terms of hours, but in passion and commitment. While we have great work/life balance here (see our benefits), we want someone who’s fully invested in what we’re building.
- Super comfortable with tech - whether it’s CRM tools, AI, or project management software, you should know your way around it all.
- Someone who's excited by what we're doing
- Someone who sees the list of responsibilities above and thinks "cool challenge".
- Someone with Taste. You gotta have taste.
Requirements
⚠️ As mentioned above, we're going to be very strict and specific about this and will screen in the process. This is to ensure we're not wasting your time unless you're a genuine potential fit
Must haves:
- 7+ years of experience in growth-related roles (sales, marketing, business development, etc.).
- Proven success growing products at a technology company with verifiable results and hard numbers.
- Experience managing and scaling teams.
- Strong understanding of SaaS funnels, key metrics, and growth-related software tools.
- Eligibility to work in the USA (we cannot help with this)
- Los Angeles based or willing to move to Los Angeles
Nice to haves:
- Experience in music-tech
- Understanding of the music industry
- Existing key relationships in the music industry or at brands
Details & Benefits
- This is a full time role
- Employment will be "at-will"
- Eligible for ROSTR's health, vision and dental plan
- Enrollment in ROSTR's 401(k)
- 21 days paid time off
- 6 paid vacation days + week from Christmas to New Year's Day off
The Process
- Please make sure you have read through this entire job description, specifically the warning at the top about the process.
- Also please double check the "must haves" section.
- If you are confident you match the requirements please click the Apply button below
- We'll ask you to answer a few screening questions. If at the end of the screening we don't think you'll be a fit we won't ask you to apply. This is to save you time.
- We'll review applications on an ongoing basis. If we don't think you'll be a fit (and most will not be) we'll send you a note asap letting you know.
- If we think you may be a fit we'll be in touch with more info on the process. Again, please be prepared for a lengthy process here as we try to find the right candidate for this role. To reiterate, we don't expect to make a decision on this role until circa Spring 2025.
- How do you catch our eye? In the application form there's a section to tell us why you're a fit. This is key. Write something concise that quickly conveys why you're a fit for this role. Your answer should essentially synthesize your resume for us.
