Your Role
We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join O Positiv who is excited to grow alongside the Company and take on new initiatives and responsibilities as we expand our department! As a member of the accounting team, you will be expected to demonstrate great attention to detail executing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. You will be given the opportunity to wear many hats within the accounting function and will be expected to work with cross functional teams, analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, manage accounts payable, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow.
This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting and will provide you with direct exposure to the Senior Director of Finance and CFO. This role will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a number of cross functional departments from Brand and Creative to Operations and Strategy.
Candidates should possess a solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, be well-organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and should be comfortable working in a highly social and collaborative work environment, including the ability to interact with employees and vendors alike. Additionally, candidates are expected to own their areas of focus and are encouraged to take initiative on new tasks and continue to improve the department overall.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations and schedules as part of the monthly close process
- Create purchase orders and collaborate with our Operations and Supply teams
- Monitor accounting email and manage vendor relations and accounts payable responsibilities
- Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
- Perform cash and credit card reconciliations
- Implement process improvements and documentation
- Assist in coordinating with external accounting partners including audit and tax teams
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1-3 years professional experience in an accounting role
Interpersonal:
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
- Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated
- Attention to detail and high degree of organization
Additional Preferred Experience and Skills:
- CPA License, or in progress
- Experience with inventory
- Big 4 Firm, Fortune 500 and/or private company experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly strong excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Hours and Compensation
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $70,000 - $90,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

- Position will be based out of Santa Monica, Los Angeles - in person (Mon-Thurs in office/Friday remote)
