Infra Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infra Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to manage, maintain, and enhance our organizational infrastructure across various products, clouds, and accounts. The role requires a proactive problem-solver who can devise and implement robust, scalable solutions, seamlessly integrating best practices into our systems. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of driving change, mentoring peers, and advocating for the adoption of improved processes throughout the development lifecycle. A strong understanding of security, cost optimisation, collaboration, and effective communication is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Management: Oversee and optimize the infrastructure across multiple products, clouds and accounts, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and diagnose complex issues, developing and implementing effective, scalable solutions.
• Best Practices Integration: Seamlessly incorporate industry best practices into the existing systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members across various departments, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Observability: Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Curiosity for New Tools: Stay updated with the latest tools and technologies in the DevOps field, continually seeking to improve processes and systems.
• Mentoring: Mentor and guide peers, sharing knowledge and encouraging the adoption of new tools, practices, and methodologies within the team.
• Security and Cost Optimisation: Implement security measures and strategies for optimizing costs without compromising on performance or reliability

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing infrastructure in multi-cloud environments (AWS).
• Strong background in automating infrastructure and workflows using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or similar.
• Expertise in containerisation technologies (Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
• In-depth understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Ability to analyse and optimize costs related to infrastructure and operations.
• Excellent collaboration and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Git for version control.
• Strong skills in shell or Python scripting and proficiency with *nix commands.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Excellent Communication skills with the ability to mentor and influence peers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically about complex issues.
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player, open to feedback, and adaptable to changing requirements and environments.
