Staff Software Engineer - Databases

About the Role Fivetran is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer who is eager to tackle various technical challenges in a dynamic startup environment. • Design, Develop, and Debug: Lead the design, development, and debugging of software for distributed systems, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
• Project Leadership: Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with different stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery in an iterative development environment.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Serve as a leading contributor, both individually and as a team member, offering direction and mentorship to other engineers.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability, conducting thorough testing and reviews.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, advocating for the adoption of new tools and methodologies to improve the development process. Skills We’re Looking For
• Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in developing distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a passion for tackling challenging and ambiguous technical problems.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bonus Skills​
