About the job
As a Finance Analyst at Karlon Group, you will play an integral role on multiple client engagements across industries including consumer, SaaS, business services, manufacturing, and healthcare. We are looking for individuals who learned their finance chops at a bulge-bracket investment bank or big 4 accounting firm and honed them at a growing company. We want candidates who love Excel modeling and FP&A, embrace automation (including AI), and understand balance sheets. The ideal candidate is a self-proclaimed perfectionist who has a passion for working cross-functionally with internal and client teams.
You’ll work extensively with our growing finance and accounting team (we’re actually a lot of fun). You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to work with senior leaders at Karlon Group and at our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, activities related to finance for clients, including building models from scratch, actualizing models, creating financial reporting outputs, and creating financial dashboards.
- Own client models, including three-statement operating models, financing models, 13-week cash flow models and more.
- Create, update and review financial outputs, monthly financial packages and budget vs actual outputs.
- Work collaboratively with internal and client accounting teams to prepare monthly financial statements and financial reporting packages for executive review.
- Work collaboratively with internal and client management teams to prepare board slides and board-ready outputs.
- Serve as finance resource to client departmental teams on mission-critical projects, forecasting efforts and other requests.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of new process workflows that enable more automated modeling.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, accounting, math, engineering or business.
- 2+ years of top-tier investment banking or big 4 experience experience.
- 2+ years of operational "industry" experience. Experience at mid/late-stage startups is preferred.
- Experience across corporate finance, forecasting and budgeting. Strong accounting skills and an interest in learning more accounting.
- Expert at excel modeling. Experience with google sheets a plus.
- Ability to communicate financial topics to non-finance people.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with the accounting close process (from a finance point of view) a plus.
- ERP experience (for example: Quickbooks, Fulfill.io, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP).
- PC user (sorry no Macs).
