The Assistant Studio Manager supports the Area Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the ear piercing studio, focusing on providing outstanding customer service, managing staff, and ensuring the studio meets Rowan’s high standards of safety and cleanliness. The ideal Assistant Studio Manager candidate will be a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to motivate and support a team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-obsessed Assistant Studio Manager to join our team and assist our Area Manager in our Walt Whitman location.
What you'll be doing as Assistant Store Manager:
Customer Experience:- Create a warm, welcoming, celebratory atmosphere, greet and engage with customers.
- Customer-obsessed, working on the selling floor shoulder to shoulder with your teams, leading by example and delivering celebratory customer service, ensuring every customer enjoys a joyful and memorable ear piercing experience.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns, resolving issues with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the studio and selling floor are neat, clean, organized, and reflects the brand image at all times.
- Engage with the local community to drive brand awareness, traffic and appointments. Support Leadership + Team Management:- Assist the Area Manager in leading, coaching, and developing studio staff, including Nurse Piercers and Studio Sales Associates, to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Act as the Studio Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to Rowan’s standards.
- Help with scheduling staff within labor allocations to ensure optimal coverage while achieving payroll plans and audits for payroll accuracy. Monitor appointments and manage staffing accordingly. Handle any staffing issues as they arise to ensure the studio has adequate staffing. Operations + Sales:- Assist in all aspects inventory management, prioritizing Studio compliance to policies and standard operating procedures, while ensuring inventory control through POS accuracy and loss prevention measures.
- Ensure all visual merchandising standards are met and that product presentation, displays and fixtures are reflective of brand guidelines and standards.
- Meet or exceed individual and Studio sales targets and performance metrics, including sales per hour, conversion percentage and revenue to target, by effectively communicating the value of Rowan’s services and products to customers, and coaching and helping team members achieve their targets as well.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, particularly related to piercing procedures. Training + Development:- Assist with onboarding and training new staff members, ensuring they understand Rowan’s procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Provide ongoing support and training to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Administrative Duties:- Help prepare reports on studio performance, including sales, customer feedback, and operational issues.
- Assist in managing the studio’s payroll budget, tracking expenses, and helping to meet financial goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience we're looking for:
- 2-4 years of retail experience is a must, with some management or supervisory experience.
- Customer-obsessed, you love being on a selling floor with your teammates leading by example and delivering exceptional, memorable customer experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support the Studio Manager in leading a team.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays is a must.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- An independent thinker with a can do attitude.
- You like being part of a team and like spending time with people.
- Comfortable using technology, software systems and POS.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management and visual merchandising.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly related to piercing, is a plus.
- Proficient working in Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, and Documents).
- Analytical skills, including basic retail math, calculating inventory on-hands, tracking sales.
- The role involves tasks that may include climbing ladders, bending, lifting, pushing, and reaching above and below the waist. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
- Standing for a full 8-hour shift is a regular part of this role.
