This is an opportunity to play a key role in driving impact throughout the product development lifecycle and contribute to the strategic direction of our infrastructure products. You will have high levels of executive visibility and opportunities to work cross-functionally.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Product Insights: Develop and maintain a comprehensive analytics framework that provides real-time insights into the performance of our infrastructure products, focusing on key metrics such as user engagement, feature adoption, retention, and churn.
  • Strategic Planning: Leverage insights from the analytics framework to collaborate closely with product managers, driving continuous improvements and strategic adjustments to the roadmaps for Terraform, Packer, and Waypoint. Drive strategic business transformation initiatives, like quarterly business reviews and annual planning processes.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough analyses of competitor infrastructure products, gathering intelligence that will inform our product strategy. Produce strategic reports that will guide product management in making data-driven decisions specific to our infrastructure offerings.
  • Pricing and Packaging: Collaborate with product marketing to develop and refine pricing and packaging strategies that enhance customer adoption and strengthen market differentiation.
  • Customer Feedback and Sentiment Analysis: Collect, analyze, and synthesize customer feedback from various sources (e.g., surveys, support interactions, social media) to identify trends and pain points. Use this data to inform continuous product improvements, enhance user satisfaction, and drive long-term customer loyalty.

What you’ll need (basic qualifications)

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in product management, management consulting, product analytics, or other relevant experience, specifically within the infrastructure or DevOps space.
  • Background: Deep understanding of DevOps software business models, with a strong grasp of the underlying economics, key product and usage metrics, and the role of telemetry in supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop frameworks for novel problems, with a proven track record of translating data-driven insights into actionable strategies that align with long-term business goals and drive product success.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights. Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake, SQL, Python, etc.) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Sigma, etc.) or similar tools is required.
  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, sales, and marketing. Experience in aligning diverse teams to achieve strategic objectives is essential.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of identifying issues and developing innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to executive level stakeholders.

What's nice to have (preferred qualifications)

  • Education: A degree in computer science, statistics, data science, or an MBA.
