What we’re looking for
The Developer Platform team is looking for a passionate DevOps engineer with solid frontend experience, to help architect and lead the build pipelines and tooling for our Node.js ecosystem. Our team owns the CI/CD pipeline for the company and works to create and standardize powerful tooling as well as unify the company towards a single golden path approach.
This opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
What you’ll be working on
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, build, and manage automated CI/CD pipelines for Node.js applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
- Node.js Application Integration: Implement and maintain integrations for Node.js applications within CI/CD workflows, ensuring seamless deployment and testing.
- AWS EKS Management: Configure and manage Amazon EKS clusters for containerized applications, including setup, scaling, and monitoring.
- GitOps Implementation: Implement and manage GitOps practices using Argo CD or Flux CD to drive continuous deployment and infrastructure as code (IaC) workflows.
- Automation and Scripting: Create and manage scripts for automated testing, deployment, and environment provisioning.
- Version Control Management: Manage version control systems (e.g., Git) to ensure code quality and streamline the integration and deployment processes.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor pipeline performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure continuous delivery and integration efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to define and implement best practices for CI/CD and ensure smooth deployments.
- Documentation: Document CI/CD processes, configurations, and workflows to maintain clear and comprehensive records.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure security best practices and compliance are integrated into CI/CD processes and deployments.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development, with significant experience in Node.js application environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
- Leading and taking ownership on Node.js toolchain for the company.
- Can work comfortably with the NodeJs, Typescript and the usual tooling such as esbuild, webpack, npm,ensuring that we get buy-in and built trust with frontend and web platform developers.
- Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Bash or Python) for automation.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, specifically AWS EKS).
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tools like Argo CD or Flux CD.
- Knowledge of cloud platform AWS and their CI/CD integrations.
- Experience with static code analysis tools.
- Familiar with industry standards regarding releases, rollbacks, and deployments
Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve existing processes for better efficiency and effectiveness
Mentoring: Mentor junior engineers and leading projects
This opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
