The role

• We are looking for self-motivated, passionate, and driven individuals to lead successful engagements for 101 Ways through hands-on experience in best practice software development consultancy.
• You'll have the opportunity to assist clients in solving interesting problems across a variety of domains, including Tech for Good - Biotech, Medical, eCommerce, Retail, Food tech, Digital Sports Streaming, Media, Real Estate, Publishing, and more.
• We collaborate with our clients on a wide range of technical challenges, from building new platform capabilities to creating reliable web-based products that serve millions of users with a great user experience. You will work on a broad spectrum of technical challenges that help our clients accelerate product development and become champions in using best practices to build scalable software.
• This role will be reporting to one of the 101 Ways Principal Engineers. Overall responsibility is to deliver successful client projects by providing high value software consulting services for a range of clients.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Ensure Successful Service Delivery

Along with the other consultants and supported by the Crew Director, contribute to the successful delivery of client engagements. This includes:

• Helping with the onboarding of 101 consultants in engagements.
• Being an excellent ambassador for 101 Ways with clients
• Alerting the Engagement Lead to any potential risks and issues that could impact the engagement

Software Development

• Providing billable development consultancy services for 101 Ways clients.
• Acting as a Senior Developer within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Contribute to the 101 Ways engineering practice, ensuring consultants are aligned with our values, quality and ways of working.
• Supporting & collaborating with client engineering teams to ensure best development practices are followed.

Capabilities Required

• Applicants with a versatile skillset encompassing one or more of the following programming languages - JavaScript/TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, Python, or Go. We welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about learning new languages.
• Experience building container and microservices-based applications.
• Experience building applications hosted in AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, observability and security solutions.
• Experience with methodologies such as TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, Agile and Lean, Clean code principles and DevOps.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Have high EQ as well as IQ to work with empathy in an organisation that has a unique culture and talented people.
• Collaborative non-hierarchical work style.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Reporting & Location

• This role reports to a Principal Developer.
• This role is Hybrid with offices based in London or Barcelona will require travel to clients, prospects and events as required.
