Wachter is accepting applications for a Low Voltage Lead Foreman Technician for large construction and remodel project work at various industrial and commercial environment locations across the United States. Candidates should have experience leading jobs with data, voice, alarm, video, and paging systems.

Requirements:
- 10+ years experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician working in industrial/commercial space (1 million - 5 million Sq/Ft).
- 5 - 7+ years experience as a Lead/Foreman working in Industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Data Cable Technician with CAT6 cabling, fiber optic, 24v, and 70v paging systems experience.
- Knowledge and experience with CCTV, Fire, Security Systems, and Alarm Systems is a plus.
- Experience installing Audio/Visual, Point-of-Sale systems, TV/monitor, or media players is a plus.
- Industry-specific certifications are a huge plus (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA). Please list certifications if any.
- Fiber optic training and certifications, highly desired (AT&T, BICSI, CISCO, Corning, CNET, ETA, FOA, VERIZON).
- Available and willing for extensive travel nationwide.
- Duration of each project last 1-6 months. Once completed you would move on to the next project location.
- Flexible and willing to work on-call, day, night, or weekend shifts as the jobs require.
- The duration of each project could last 1-6 months, once completed travel to the next job site location.
- A typical work week will average 50-60 hours a week depending on job site requirements and deadlines.
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
- Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in multiple termination types for multi-mode and single-mode fibers.
- Knowledgeable in closeouts and MDFs/IDF/MCIC.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces.
- Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and work at heights 65 plus feet.
- Able to identify independent colors and knowledge of industry color codes.
- Must have basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of cabling infrastructure. Will consider OSP knowledge (CO to Demarc).
- Proficient with the use of smartphones, computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
- Ability to employ soft skills; ex: teamwork, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, critical thinking, time management, and interpersonal.
- Comfortable working unsupervised and with teams of 4 to 20 other technicians.
- Ability to effectively interact with high-level personnel: GC’s, IT Professionals, and other Stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
- Current OSHA 10/30 Certification or is able to acquire it within 60 days of employment.
- Knowledge of working in Industrial environments; Union/ Non-Union; Higher Safety Vigilance
- Industry-specific certifications are readily considered (ICT, CCTT, CNCI, DCI, FOI, FOT, TECH).
- Will consider work done in Basic Telephony and wire-work training.
- Experience in Fiber Optic terminations: Unicam (or similar), Single strand and Ribbon fusion splicing.
- Knowledgeable in Redlines and As-Builts.
Responsibilities:
- Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructures.
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6, Fiber Optic Cables, (SM & MM) as designed and per the scope of work.
- Installing, Aiming, and Focusing IP Cameras.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings up to 2,000,000 sq ft, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Dress cable pathways and MDFs.
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and inner-duct.
- Erect support structures and install Network Devices (AP’s, Cameras) per scope of work.
- Repair cable poles and towers.
- Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
- Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.
- Provide regular updates to Project Management on project status and current objectives.
- Lead crews of 6-15 technicians by providing daily instruction and training, as needed.
