About the job
Product Engineering @ Pave
At the heart of every company’s compensation strategy are the following pillars: compensation bands, compensation planning, and total rewards communication. Creating and maintaining compensation bands in an ever-changing labor market is equal parts art and science. These bands are then utilized in various compensation planning strategies to reward high performers and retain top talent. Finally, the output of compensation planning is visualized for employees in their Total Rewards portals where they can continue to simulate how their wealth can grow through refresh programs, promotions, and company growth. Our Market Pricing and Plan & Execute teams build the products that enable our customers do so in a frictionless and transparent way.
Over the next year, we have an ambitious roadmap that encompass the entire compensation strategy lifecycle: how customers define their compensation philosophies, model their jobs in Pave, understand trends in market data, translate trends into their compensation bands, apply band adjustments into merit cycle planning, communicate compensation adjustments to eligible employees, and help employees understand the value of their compensation over time.
Within our agile teams, we value strong ownership and collaboration. Team members move between ideation, scoping, and execution in a matter of days while closely iterating with cross functional partners on requirements. We expect you to be comfortable and excited about navigating ambiguity. We’re looking for product-centric engineers to help us embark on this journey together — we’re only scratching the surface!
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience using modern web technologies (TypeScript, React, Node/Express, MySQL), preferably at technology companies
- Strong product sense: You leverage your customer understanding and empathy to make the right tradeoffs for what should be MVP, and what should come next
- Ability to adjust approach: You have a good sense for when you should cut corners to ship a new piece of functionality, and when you should take the time to invest in a sound architecture for the long-haul
- Comfortable with ambiguity: You should be comfortable “filling in the gaps” in product / design specs. The prospect of being able to prototype to test ideas out before committing to building is exciting to you.
- Nice to have: experience working at B2B SaaS tech companies, especially during hypergrowth
- This role is eligible for sponsorship
