About the Team:
At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 4 verticals: (i) Traditional Finance with Accounting, Tax, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering and (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.
About the Role
At Aspire, we pride ourselves on building an amazing team. We require a Strategy & Planning manager to join our very talented lineup, as we continue to build up the Strategy & Planning function. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Planning, you will be part of a team of 4-5 people focused on Strategic Planning, Governance & Performance Management, and Investor Reporting.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develop data-driven investment theses, business cases, pricing analyses, and evaluation criteria for growth and efficiency oriented initiatives
- Finance Business Partnering: Partner closely with business leaders for KPI oversight, promptly calling out opportunity and risk areas to business leaders for decision making
- Industry & Competition: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide competitive research and insights; drive our competitive strategy
- Analyzing financial and operational results to better understand company performance. Provide detailed analysis and commentary on results
- Special Projects: Lead task forces and own project management of high impact, high priority special projects (M&A, equity and debt fund raising)
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant experience in finance, strategy, consulting, investment banking or similar analytical roles
- Strong interest in Fintech, Tech and Start-ups
- Values-oriented, data-driven decision-making style
- Ability to build strong cross functional relationships - communications and engaging with internal stakeholders of various levels is key
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial with an automation mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Capable of solving complex business problem
- Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
- Outstanding leadership skills with 3+ years of previous people management experience
