About the Role
As a Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, system solution architecture, and hands-on software development, collaborating closely with managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
In this role, you will launch new products through initial development, make critical architectural decisions, and navigate technical trade-offs. Your leadership will extend to systems integration, including hardware and software, focusing on sensor technologies, navigation systems, and safety standards.
You will significantly impact the company’s decision-making, build trust with partners, manage cross-disciplinary collaborations, and foster an engineering culture of innovation. Through mentorship and guidance, you’ll help elevate the team's technical skills and contribute to the delivery of scalable, high-quality products.

- Translate big-picture goals into actionable tasks, breaking down complex projects into manageable workstreams and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software systems, focusing on sensor technologies, navigation, control systems, safety standards, and the successful operation of ROS (ROS2) while overseeing testing, production, and subcontractor collaboration.
- Ensure alignment with navigation, control systems, and motor integrations, including safety system compliance and familiarity with safety standards across multidisciplinary robotics environments.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology stack choices, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions while navigating technical trade-offs.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams, acting as the primary liaison between engineering and other departments to prioritize tasks, resolve field issues, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in multidisciplinary (HW/SW/Embedded) development and technical leadership within the robotics or autonomous systems industry.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with deep knowledge of robotics technologies and experience working with ROS-based systems (ROS2 preferred).
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration, communication protocols, and the successful integration of hardware and software systems.
- Strong understanding of navigation and control systems, motor integrations, and safety standards within production environments.
- Experience with system architecture, scalability, and trade-offs in fast-paced, product-oriented settings.
- Experience working in a production environment focusing on quality control, system reliability, and process optimization.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to customer or subcontractor sites for system testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration, as needed.
- Experience with Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), heavy machinery, or autonomous systems in multidisciplinary environments is a plus.
Benefits & Perks:
- Competitive salary ranging from $170K to $220K, accompanied by an annual bonus and equity package. (Candidate's qualifications will determine job level and total compensation).
