Job Overview
The Operations Manager at Glazer Labs will oversee the smooth functioning of all operations across departments, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing operational processes to improve efficiency, drive scalability, and ensure that projects and initiatives are completed on time and within budget.
The Operations Manager will work closely with other department heads (HR, Finance, Product Development, Marketing, etc.), overseeing staff performance, setting up efficient workflows, and driving the execution of key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
- Design, implement, and monitor scalable operational workflows and processes to improve overall efficiency across the organization.
- Continuously analyze and evaluate the efficiency of existing operations, identifying opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure operational success.
2. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between departments (HR, Finance, Technology, Marketing, and Business Development) to ensure that operations align with business goals.
- Support the technology and product teams by ensuring smooth operational workflows, including resource allocation, milestone tracking, and task management.
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of inter-departmental projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
3. Project and Program Management
- Oversee key projects, ensuring that all deliverables are met according to the established timeline and budget.
- Coordinate with the technology team to implement and maintain project management tools such as ClickUp to streamline project workflows.
- Manage the operations side of product rollouts, marketing campaigns, and esports events (e.g., tournaments, partnerships).
4. Performance and Compliance Monitoring
- Establish and implement performance management programs across all departments, including employee KPIs, project KPIs, and regular performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Develop reporting structures that allow the executive team to track and analyze operational performance.*
5. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Provide leadership in employee onboarding, training, and development, ensuring that operational staff have the necessary tools to succeed.
- Ensure the smooth onboarding and integration of new hires, supporting HR in talent acquisition and retention efforts.
6. Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Ensure all operational initiatives are executed within budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports, tracking operational expenditures, and ensuring cost-efficiency in all departments.
7. Technology and Automation
- Work closely with the technology team to identify areas where operations can be streamlined through the use of automation tools (e.g., project management, HR, finance, customer support).
- Lead the implementation of operational automation tools (e.g., ClickUp, BambooHR, QuickBooks), ensuring smooth adoption across all departments.
- Ensure the integration of data across different tools and systems to enable cross-departmental collaboration and real-time insights.
8. Esports Tournament Management
- Collaborate with the Esports team to plan and manage esports tournaments, including scheduling, team coordination, and logistical oversight.
- Ensure seamless execution of events by coordinating with external vendors, sponsors, and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s Degree (MBA) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in an operations or project management role, preferably within the technology, entertainment, or gaming industries.
- Proven experience in process optimization, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong understanding of business operations and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
- Experience with project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Jira, or Monday.com.
- Tech-savvy, with experience in automation and the use of tools like BambooHR, QuickBooks, HubSpot, etc.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to develop KPIs and performance metrics to drive operational success.
- Strong understanding of financial principles (budgeting, forecasting, cost management).
- Experience working in the gaming, esports, or tech industry is a significant advantage.
