Role Overview
The Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP) will serve as the main point of conduct to provide employee relations and human resources support to the contact center employees located in Tampa, Florida. This role provides specific expertise in employee relations, workplace investigations, managing underperformance and policy development/enforcement. This role will support employees on a wide range of employee relations and human resources issues and processes, and play a key role in maintaining a fair and respectful work environment for all ID.me employees. This opportunity combines your deep expertise in employee relations with HR program and project management experience in support of the People Team. You will take a customer-first approach in a fast-paced business environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Acts as the first point of contact for managers and employees on employee relations and human resources issues for contact center employees located in Tampa, FL.
- Conducts prompt, thorough, and objective workplace investigations.
- Drafts investigative reports, presents investigative findings and recommendations to decision makers.
- Prepares written responses to the EEOC or other similar state and local regulatory agencies regarding allegations of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation.
- Routinely consults on and/or facilitates the prompt resolution of employee relations issues by working with managers, team leads, and employees.
- Drafts separation agreements, as necessary.
- Creates and implements training focused on improving overall people leadership skills.
- Act as a liaison between managers and employees regarding workplace issues.
- Assists leaders in the development of policy and practices to align with business needs.
- Promotes knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regard to Company policies and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and trainings.
- Advises and partners with business leaders to support a robust and clear performance management program and the annual review cycle.
- Drafts and reviews corrective actions to ensure compliance with company policies and our Core Values.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in employee relations/workplace investigations, gained in an employee relations advisory role, or equivalent experience as an employment attorney practicing employment law.
- Expert knowledge of current state and federal employment laws.
- Experience conducting the full life-cycle of workplace concerns and investigations.
- Ability to operate with empathy, and de-escalate challenging situations, and to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively, lead and influence at all levels within the organization, and make decisions while keeping partners and leaders informed
- Experience designing and delivering successful training programs
- Ability to assess sensitive and complex employee relations issues in a confidential, objective, and systematic manner
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and facilitation/presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- JD with an employment law focus or experience
- Experience with non-exempt employees in a 24 hour operation
- Proficient with Google Suite or related software
