The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Johnston County Equipment team.
In this role, you will:
⦁ Perform semi-skilled mechanical work on small engine, automotive, and heavy equipment repairs.
⦁ Service, inspect, repair, rebuild, and diagnose mechanical systems for gasoline, diesel, and alternative-powered engines/equipment.
⦁ Perform inspections and service to moderately complex mechanical systems analysis using advanced diagnostic instruments and software and conduct parts/systems failure analysis.
⦁ Determine materials, techniques, and tools to accomplish work assignments that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system and ancillary components/equipment.
⦁ Perform recurring and related tasks and repairs, such as inspecting and replacing brake pads and shoes, regulators, alternators and belts, and fitting/repairing standard aftermarket upgrades and equipment.
⦁ Perform preventative maintenance.
⦁ Install/repair tires and tubes, wheels & rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems and hydraulic systems.
What You Bring
⦁ Experience in tire repairs and replacement.
⦁ Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy-duty trucks, and heavy equipment.
⦁ Skills using 2+ tools and pieces of equipment: wrenches, sockets, battery charger, hydraulic jacks, loader, forklift, automotive/truck lift, fuel service truck, tire changer, tire balancer, welder, cutting torch, diagnostic equipment, computer, tire jack, tire balance machine, pneumatic wrench, diagnostic gauges, electronic tester, air impact wrench, air compressor, air gun, or torque wrench.
⦁ A Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker (N) endorsement. (STILL APPLY if you don't have this. You can earn it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire.)
Notes
⦁ This role requires work during bad weather, such as snow/ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
⦁ We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and a background check for your previous employers over the past 3 years about controlled substances/alcohol testing.
⦁ We may require EPA certification as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician.
Education & Experience
⦁ High School/GED diploma, or
⦁ An equivalent combination of education and experience.
