Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software projects. This role will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical execution of projects and products, ensuring adherence to quality standards, best practices, and technical requirements.
  • Make technology-related decisions, including selecting appropriate frameworks, tools, and technologies, and guiding the team in their implementation.
  • Allocate resources effectively across various project and product initiatives, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, product teams and clients to understand project/product requirements, priorities, and timelines.
  • Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to the team in designing and implementing robust and scalable solutions.
  • Act as a key contributor and operational member of specific product or project teams, actively participating in the execution and delivery of initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering their professional growth and skill development.
  • Drive a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our projects and products.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients and cross-functional teams, to understand business needs and align technology solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders ### Role Responsibilities & Deliverables: Solution Architecture:
  • Interact with new leads to understand their business requirements and goals.
  • Conceptualize and communicate practical and well-researched digitally enabled solutions within our capabilities and client budget to clients, resolving any doubts and establishing the solution as best in class. Technical Leadership:
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring the use of best practices and efficient development processes.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and develop solutions that meet client needs. Project Management:
  • Collaborate with project management by providing estimates and timelines
  • Assigning resources based on project requirements and resource availability
  • Work with a distributed team of project managers and technology leads.
  • Maintain process compliance by enforcing strict documentation and process rules.
  • Define, gather, and analyze business and product requirements for client and internal projects.
  • Develop, manage, and communicate strategic and tactical product/project roadmaps in line with agreed scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work closely with testing teams to ensure all output is well-tested and meets client expectations. Recruitment and Talent Management:
  • Assess the bandwidth of the organization relative to the current pipeline and identify resource gaps.
  • Hire capable, independent resources that can understand, communicate, and execute client briefs accurately.
  • Work with HR teams and external consultants to interview candidates and assess their fit within the organization.
  • Monitor performance of all organizational resources and lead performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement a best-in-class onboarding and induction program to ensure quick activation of new resources.
  • Identify and on board contractors / freelancers as and when required Leadership & Trainings:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Drive recruitment efforts to attract and onboard top engineering talent. Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in:
    • Gen AI: Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation
    • Platforms: WordPress, Magento, Shopify, Laravel, Django
    • Programming Languages: PHP, Python, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React), Tailwind
    • Interfaces: REST, Web Sockets, gRPC
    • Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Weaviate, Firestore
    • Cloud: AWS, Docker
    • Architectures: Headless, Pub/Sub, Event Sourcing, Asynchronous, Streaming
    • Servers: Nginx, Apache,
    • Code Management: Git, Docker
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, team and project management.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a successful track record in managing projects, products and teams
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with international clients.
  • Experience in client interfacing roles is advantageous.
  • Clean employment track record.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including US/UK time zone shifts as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
