Job summary
Join Dyrt as the Facilities Manager and lead the way in innovative environmental management. This pivotal role offers the unique opportunity to build operations from the ground-up for a state-of-the art composting facility in the heart of Los Angeles. As the Facilities Manager you will set out SOPs, ensure compliance and coordinate with the broader team to optimize facility performance.
This person will develop a foundation for the facilities practices, maintain a clean and attractive facility, ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and ensure efficient operations. The Facilities Manager will work closely with the broader team and handle administrative duties related to the facility. Additionally, this member will be responsible for oversight and transition out of of the temporary facility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Collaborate with the leadership team to address challenges and optimize processes.
- Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with required health and safety, preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and training programs
- Ensure full compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory guidelines and permits
- Lead the implementation of facility rollout, upgrades and improvements.
- Coordinate delivery of incoming and outgoing material
- Schedule, direct, and monitor all onsite labor, including the work of equipment operators, technicians, laborers, mechanics, electricians, clerical staff, and truck drivers
- Monitor and evaluate all aspects of the facility to determine operations and maintenance needs, and evaluate completed and in progress work
- Optimize the composting process in regard to efficient material handling, effective curing practices, and production of the highest quality compost in a manner that is cost effective and in compliance with all regulations
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all recordkeeping
- Identify and communicate the scope, estimated cost, and criticality of facility improvements for both capital and operations and maintenance projects
- Provide and coordinate emergency response
- We expect all members of our team to be willing to get their hands dirty.

Qualifications:
- Experience in facilities operations and maintenance
- Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
- A Valid Driver’s License
- Must have knowledge in the principles of emergency preparedness and response procedures; Code of Federal Regulations, CAL-OSHA, OSHA within facility operations.
- Ability to work under pressure and be detail oriented.
- Work will at times require more than 8 hours per day or an irregular work week to perform the essential duties of the position.
