You will play a critical role in building our platform and driving the technical direction of our company. This is a hands-on position that will involve working on all parts of our stack, from the front-end to the back-end, and collaborating with other engineers, designers, and founders. This is a great opportunity for someone to create a lasting impact on our product and company values at this early stage.

Clipp’s vision is to digitize the food supply chain into bits & bytes, starting with the $325 billion food ingredient distribution industry in the US. Food distributors rely on outdated processes, with over 50% using QuickBooks and pen & paper. After an unprecedented global pandemic, the food supply chain needs to be revolutionized to ensure food costs do not continue to rise.

Our mission is to democratize access to healthy and quality food for the world’s 8 billion people.

💪 The team is looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably as a team lead or manager
• Experience leading technical projects and designing scalable, distributed systems
• Proficiency in web application development, including React.js, Node.js, AWS, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication skills and experience leading technical teams and collaborating cross-functionally
• Experience in e-commerce or the restaurant industry is a plus

⌨️ What You’ll Be Working On

• Design, shape, and implement Clipp’s vision
• Handle all aspects of running the business with a primary focus on engineering and product, including customer interactions, financial projections, and customer success
• Collaborate closely with the team to design and implement our back-end, front-end, and infrastructure
• Work with engineers and designers to build a user-friendly, intuitive platform that meets customer needs
• Define and execute the technical roadmap, balancing technical debt and meeting business goals
• Develop, extend, and maintain development processes, tools, and workflows

🖥️ Our Stack

• NextJS, Javascript/Typescript, React, CSS, GraphQL
• MongoDB, Heroku (migrating to AWS), Firebase
• Flutter on mobile (preferred but not required)

🤝 You’ll Be a Good Fit If

• You're scrappy and a risk-taker
• You've thrived in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (ideally a startup) and can drive initiatives with minimal oversight
• You've independently built and scaled a product end-to-end to at least a few thousand users (e.g., a side project or open-source project)
