Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Finance and Accounting to join our dynamic team. This key role will report directly to our part-time CFO and will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of financial principles, and a passion for driving financial performance in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting department.
• Develop and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all necessary documentation.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure healthy financial liquidity.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for various initiatives and projects.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accounting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles within a venture-backed startup or institutionally-funded high-growth environment.
• Proven experience in managing financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools; experience with SaaS accounting systems is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
