About Eequ and the Salesperson role

Who we are

Eequ is a UK technology company that supports the dreams of thousands of amazing teaching businesses, we call them ‘Mentors’. The business is growing fast due to the strength of our software product and our reputation.

We don't really sell our product, we just show it to people and they fall in love.

Our big idea

There are millions of opportunities to learn outside of school, in every community. From skill sharers to small businesses to large organisations. Whether you are a child, parent, adult learner or grandmother, learning online just isn’t as good as being there in real life with real human beings.

However, no one wants to search across millions of buggy websites. A marketplace is needed, that's us…www.eequ.org

We make it 10 x easier to run a teaching business. From afterschool clubs to forest schools, we remove all the pain from taking bookings and managing your group of learners.

The role

We are looking for a Salesperson to join our team and help us become known widely across the UK as the premier booking platform and marketplace for clubs, classes, courses and training. You will join a small and primarily technical team and work closely with the founder to develop and implement various go-to-market strategies.

You will be responsible for researching and creating your own databases of ideal customers and making appointments to demo the product. You will use a consultative style sales approach and guide our new Mentors through the onboarding process, continuing to support them and maximize sales through ongoing support.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Founder to develop and implement go-to-market strategies.
Research and create databases of ideal customers.
Schedule appointments to demo the product.
Use a consultative style of sales to take customers through the onboarding process.
Continuously support customers and maximise sales through ongoing support.
Provide feedback to the team of designers and engineers to prioritise new features.
Think entrepreneurially to develop the go-to-market tactics and strategies

About you

You learn and understand technical concepts quickly.
You are extremely proficient in building and maintaining well-organised customer databases.
You are confident working across several different technology and project management tools
You are intellectually curious and willing to help develop all areas of the business
You can find your own resources to learn new things and solve problems
You have strong communication skills and telephone confidence
1-2 years of experience in sales, preferably in a startup environment or you might be straight out of college/Uni with a killer sales instinct.
You resonate with our vision for helping people find their IKIGAI

What are we like to work for?

We think fast, change fast and learn fast
We have a small company feel, but we're disciplined and focused
We have a flexible, radically transparent culture where you will feel fully involved in the decision making.
We are customer-obsessed and data-driven – always delivering value to our users and the business
We nurture our team’s career and learning ambitions
We celebrate our successes joyfully and accept our mistakes graciously!

Benefits

We are an early-stage company and don’t have the same kinds of lavish perks of a larger tech company, however, you get to avoid a ton of mind numbing bureaucracy and hierarchy. You'll get more opportunities to take responsibility and risks. Working in a founding team is a magical thing. Everything is on fire all the time but we are solving a problem that’s been around for 200 years and it feels good.
Excellent salary and commission
Training period in Brighton, East Sussex, but can be remote once smashing targets and confident.

Application process

Please note that we are not accepting CVs at this time. Instead, we invite all interested candidates to:

  1. Study our website www.eequ.org

  2. Find an email or phone number to request our application questionnaire

  3. Complete and return our Typeform questionnaire with your thoughts on how you would approach the role.

We believe that this will allow us to better understand your skills, experience, and approach to sales.

We look forward to hearing from you!
