Senior Python Engineer

About the Job:

We are looking for a skilled Python Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with a focus on building scalable, high-performance systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and enhance our autonomous shopping solutions.

Responsibilities:

System Development:

• Architect, build, and maintain high-performance systems using asynchronous programming techniques.
• Utilise industry standard Python frameworks

Code Optimization:

• Develop reusable code libraries and optimise storage structures for efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure code is clean, well-documented, and maintainable.

API Integration:

• Integrate and work seamlessly with third-party APIs/SDKs.
• Implement API versioning and adhere to REST principles for robust API development

Testing and Documentation:.

• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure code quality.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, emphasising security best practices.

Collaboration and Agile Practices:

• Work with React Native developers, Computer Vision developers, QA professionals, API developers, project managers and designers.
• Participate actively in sprints, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Assist with project estimates and timelines.

Operational Support and Issue Resolution:

• Collaborate with the team to resolve production issues.
• Implement workarounds to minimise customer downtime and ensure swift incident resolution.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in backend development, preferably in multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Proficiency in Python is essential. Experience with other languages like Java, Node.js, and Go is a plus.
• Strong understanding of backend frameworks, microservices principles, OAuth, REST principles, database fundamentals, SQL optimization, Mongo DB optimization, ORM, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in functional or object-oriented programming.
• Ability to produce well-documented, clean code.
• Expertise in managing third-party dependencies and resolving dependency conflicts.
• Experience in conducting code reviews, and writing integration and performance tests.
• Experience with modern tools including ClickUp, Slack, GitHub, and Jenkins to streamline workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
