Your Role and Responsibilities
Development & Design
- Lead collaboration with software engineering teams to identify and resolve system bottlenecks, enhance scalability, and ensure the reliability of application deployments
- Architect and implement robust, scalable, and high-availability solutions across our application stack
Deployment Pipelines
- Design, implement, and manage advanced continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes using AWS and other DevOps tools
- Mentor Junior SREs and software engineers in best practices for CI/CD and DevOps
System Performance
- Develop and maintain sophisticated tools for process automation, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot complex issues
Security
- Drive the planning and implementation of security best practices and compliance measures to protect system integrity and data privacy
- Conduct security audits and risk assessments, providing actionable recommendations to enhance security posture
IAC Development
- Lead the development and refinement of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources
- Establish standards and guidelines for IaC development and maintenance
Continuous Learning
- Engage in the continuous learning of AWS services and DevOps methodologies to improve system reliability and operational efficience
Active Participation
- Conduct and lead post-incident reviews to analyze system failures and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system improvements and operational excellence
Our Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure, or related software engineering roles, with a strong focus on AWS cloud services
- Proven expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (preferable Golang) and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in designing cloud-based systems
- Strong background in security best practices and compliance measures
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders at all levels
- An entrepreneurial spirit with self-motivation and initiative, capable of independently driving tasks to completion
- Adaptable and eager to evolve within a rapidly changing environment; growth mindset
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation
The annual salary range is $125,000 - $135,000 USD (the actual salary will be determined based on experience). Full time employment includes a full benefits package with paid time off, including vacation, personal, social good/community service, parental leave and all (observed) major US Holidays, and can include a generous equity vesting allocation program, following the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
