About Founders:

Sundar is an IITM 2017 CS Graduate. Previously, he built Traffic Models, Driver positioning algos that power ETAs for Uber, was the first Uber US hire from India, led teams that built the RecSys for Moj(Indian equivalent of TikTok with >100M users), represented India in ACM ICPC World Finals and was the second highest rated TopCoder in India.

Anand is a Bits Pilani 2012 CS Graduate. Previously, he has worn hats including building the first supply chain management of Flipkart in 2012 and being in the first 100 eng, building the first version of running a FinTech startup for 1.5 years, managing large teams eng at Uber and building the pickup experience for Uber. He also runs a successful cloud kitchen in Hyderabad, giving us a peek into the space.

Investors:
Pre Seed Round led by Afore - we were the first startup to get funding from their Afore Alpha program which has tighter selection rates and higher valuations compared to YC.

Seed round led by Base 10 - early investors in Instacart and several other food tech startups. They have a thesis to invest in automation for the real economy and are strong believers in the mission.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing the ideal backend system architecture, addressing customer pain points, and contributing to the overall success of our platform.

Role expectation:

The primary expectation is to own a few product lines, build whatever it takes to grow revenue for the business and think business from Day 1. We fundamentally believe that deciding what to build is a much harder skill set than how to build. The expectation is to enjoy the natural product building process and build systems that last the test of time along the way(as dictated by the business).
We strongly believe that first principled thinking is a critical requirement for the role. As a company we are creating a category that did not exist, the first reaction from our customers during the demo is skepticism that something like this was possible in the first case and this is a DNA that is a must have for Loop.

What We're Seeking:

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of relevant professional full-time experience building backend systems.
• Proactive self-starter capable of independently solving problems.
• Ability to zoom out and think big picture in terms of architecture while simultaneously being able to get to granular details - seamlessly translating big picture to smaller details.
  
• Hunger to build things and get things done

Nice-to-Have:

• Some exposure to FrontEnd (React, basic familiarity with a JS library + willingness to learn)
• Some Big-Tech experience to know how systems are built in the ideal end state
• Some early stage experience to know which parts of the end state matter and which ones can be compromised. (Or atleast a hunger to ship more after slow moving Big Tech roles and curiosity to figure this out over time)
