Business Operations Manager

We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join the Moonsong Labs team and help support our business and financial operations. Moonsong Labs is a growing web3 protocol and AI engineering services and venture studio business. We have expertise in developing software to support blockchain and AI implementations. Our venture studio incubates new businesses building decentralized developer infrastructure and AI protocols. Examples of our work include the project Moonbeam, a blockchain that implements an Ethereum compatible environment and natively supports cross chain use cases. And Kluster AI (https://kluster.ai/) a decentralized large AI model inference and fine tuning platform.

The ideal candidate has experience with financial analysis, planning, and operations, but is also willing to play a supporting role across legal, hr, and other operational areas. Knowledge of the blockchain and AI space is valuable as is experience working in a high tech or software environment. Experience in operations at a fast-paced, high-growth company undertaking roles that require flexibility and high attention to detail is highly desirable.

What you'll do:

• Assist and work closely with the Director of Finance in managing various aspects of the finance function, including the day-to-day financial operations of the company, developing key business reporting, establishing processes, maintaining the Moonsong Labs financial model, and conducting ad-hoc analyses in support of strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with our external service providers (accountants, advisors), providing them with data inputs, analysis and validation. Liaise with tax advisors and accountants, as needed, ensuring smooth completion and timely resolution of any inquiries.
• Support contracting process for customer, grant, vendor, and other agreements.
• Support senior management with operational support, policy / process implementation, and other needs. Help develop and implement scalable processes to improve operational efficiency that enables company growth.
• Support incubated projects in the Venture Studio with formation, business operations, and other needs.
• Play a supporting role across HR, legal and other operational aspects of the business.
• On an ad-hoc basis, assist with cross-functional initiatives or special projects across the organization.
• Communicate regularly and clearly with other team members and also with other customers and vendors.

What you'll bring:

• Undergraduate degree required; MBA, CPA or CFA a plus.
• Experience working for a startup or in the biz ops, finance, tech, software, or services domains highly desirable. Management consulting or investment banking experience also a plus.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a roll-up-your-sleeves, “bias for action” attitude.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate opportunities from a business and financial perspective.
• Well-versed in Google Sheets and Excel with demonstrable experience creating / maintaining financial models and reports.
• Good writing skills with an ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
• Interest in the AI and web3/blockchain space.
• Strong attention to detail while working well under pressure.
