Founding Engineer

We're in search of an ambitious software engineer who's interested in startups.

Our investors include: the heads of the Stanford and Berkeley AI labs; entrepreneurs with IPOs and exits to Microsoft; and the backers of companies like Discord, Fastly, Covariant, Hugging Face, Replicate, and more.

This is the perfect role for someone who wants to start their own startup one day: learn what it's like at a fast-growing startup; have a lot of autonomy and responsibility; talk to customers; and come with us to industry trade shows.

Since launching less than a year ago, we have hundreds of customers who love the product, revenue growing 30% m/m, and a huge plan to build the AI brain behind the short-term rental industry.

You'll be part of our first round of hires and a core part of setting our culture.

You'll spend the majority of your time working directly with Besty's co-founder Aarlo Stone Fish, a Yale Computer Science grad with 20+ years of experience building software used by thousands of paying customers who has raised millions in venture capital.

You should be not only passionate about coding but interested in startups in general. Also self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable with a work environment with less organizational structure.

Responsibilities:

• Taking responsibility and ownership of features and eventually entire new products
• Writing the backend and/or frontend code for our AI property management system
• Anything else required - possibly improving our AI system, working on the frontend/backend of our product, etc.

Required skills:

• Entrepreneurial mindset.
• Be able to point to impressive software projects you have written on your own.
• Be a quick learner and curious.
• Ability to work fast and produce high-quality work.
• AI/LLM experience is a plus but not at all required.
• You should have built impressive end-to-end projects of your own in the past.
• Curiosity, drive, and interest in startups.

We're a small, elite team and interview over 50 candidates for each position. We run a brief but intense process.
