Senior Full Stack Engineer

Hi, we’re Outpay, the fastest and safest way to order & pay at bars, restaurants and hotels. We make those point-of-sales (POS) handhelds (both the hardware and the software) that waiters use to take your order and collect payment tableside – so you don’t have to wait forever. We've successfully reached product-market fit and have entered contracts with key enterprise hospitality companies (1,000+ locations) and are now in a phase of growth. The candidate will be crucial in transitioning the product through this scaling phase.

We have established partnerships with top hotel and restaurant chains, POS companies and payments processors to provide our differentiated solution that helps them all operate more effectively and efficiently. Our team has built a patented technology platform that integrates seamlessly with all major hospitality point of sale systems (POS) and many hotel property management systems (PMS).

The role involves backend refinement and adding new features to enhance the platform’s scalability and user onboarding experience.

You will be working alongside the company's CTO, based in Hawaii, another Full-Stack Developer in the US-West Coast, and a QA Developer in India.

Required Experience

• Extensive expertise in Javascript/Typescript, React Native/React, Node.js, and mobile/web apps.
• Experience with full stack development, particularly in scaling products.

Nice to have Experience

• Native Android Development experience in Java/Kotlin
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
• Experience in working with early-stage startups and adapting to changing priorities.
• POS/PMS hospitality experience (NCR Aloha, Oracle Micros/Simphony, Toast, OPERA, etc.)
• Payments Experience

Architecture:

• Two frontend Apps - Android and Web - React-Native/React, Kotlin, Redux, Apollo, CSS
• Backend - PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Objection, Express, Redis, REST, XML
• DevOps CI/CD - AWS(code pipeline, s3, ec2, ecr, eks, lambda), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Github
• Hardware/Payment Processing - BBPOS, Ingenico, Stripe, Freedompay, Elavon, PCI Compliance
• Integrations - Legacy Systems - Interacting with and Modernizing
• Testing - Jest
