Job Title: Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (20 hours per week)
Due Date: April 10
Pay Rate: $35 - $42 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Teach various Swimming and Water Safety classes to individuals of all ages.
  • Ensure individuals enjoy their time in the water safely.
  • Availability for up to 20 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and during non-school hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
  • Possession of separate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) from an approved course listed on the NYS CPR fact sheet.
  • Valid Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification throughout the contract period.
  • WSI certification must be from an approved provider.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule subject to change, determined by the Director of Recreation/Rehabilitation in advance.
  • CPR certificates valid for one year from course completion.
  • Approved courses can be found on the Progressive Swimming Instructor Fact Sheet (ny.gov).
