About the job

Kwil is a framework for deploying relational databases as decentralized, byzantine fault tolerant blockchain networks. Backed by Blockchange, Digital Currency Group, AlleyCorp, Amplify Partners, and other leading VCs, Kwil's decentralized SQL solution is poised to become a major infrastructure layer in the next generation of Web3 dApps and protocols.

Kwil is seeking a full-stack software engineer with experience building frontend applications in NextJS (or other frontend frameworks) and backend services in TypeScript and/or Go. This role will take you beyond the traditional full-stack responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to communicate with Kwil users while simultaneously building Kwil products. As a full-stack engineer, you will be responsible for building Kwil’s auto-deployment services (greenfield development), maintaining Kwil’s client-side tooling (e.g. CLIs, SDKs, etc), maintaining and producing front-end applications, and contributing to the core Kwil protocol occasionally. The ideal candidate will also have some experience with developer relations and will help existing and prospective Kwil clients with navigating and using the Kwil product.

We are a lean team that works hard and moves fast. Every team member is highly autonomous and supports each other in doing the best work of our lives. If building a product that will shape the future of the internet excites you, then this is the role for you.

Job Responsibilities:
Design and build products that will improve the Kwil user experience, including:

  • Auto-deployment services
  • Database administrator tools
  • SDKs, CLIs, etc.
  • Write documentation for software that is consumed by our partners.
  • Provide developer relations support to Kwil’s current and prospective customers.
  • Create developer-focused initiatives to engage/motivate the Kwil developer ecosystem.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation while promoting practical/agile decision-making.

Skill & Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in person in Austin, TX.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of full stack software development experience.
  • Experience with a modern frontend framework (e.g. NextJS, Vue, etc).\
  • Experience building backend services in TypeScript or Go (professional experience with Go is a plus; a willingness to learn is required).
  • Generalist full stack experience in Web3, Crypto, or Blockchain technologies.
  • Experience supporting software consumers (e.g. as developer relations advocate, integrations engineer, etc) with correctly using and debugging a software product.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and blockchains.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to autonomously problem solve when the solution isn’t immediately apparent.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability/life insurance
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Kwil Equity Allocations
  • Flexible PTO + Paid Holidays
