Position Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting WSP instructors while inspiring and mentoring some of the brightest minds entering the finance industry. In this role, you will:
- Assist with live classroom training sessions for investment banking and private equity clients.
- Support students as they build critical skills in financial modeling and valuation.
- Develop your own expertise in finance and presentation skills while enhancing your professional network.
This position is ideal for individuals with some experience in investment banking or private equity who are passionate about teaching and helping others succeed in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in virtual and in-person training sessions delivered to investment banking and private equity clients, including intern and analyst programs.
- Provide guidance to students working on financial and valuation modeling exercises, including:
- 3-Statement Modeling
- Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
- Comparable Company Analysis (Comps)
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Leveraged Buyout (LBO)
- Support lead instructors by:
- Grading assignments and providing feedback.
- Addressing student questions during sessions.
- Assisting with classroom logistics.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience & Education:
- Prior experience in investment banking or private equity is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in accounting, financial modeling, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability:
- Flexibility to support classroom training Monday-Friday during normal business hours.
- High availability during the summer months (Mid-May through Mid-September).
- Location:
- Based in or near the New York City area with the ability to attend in-person sessions as required.
