The Role
- Role: Freelancing (15 to 30/hours per week)
- Location: Remote
- Hourly rate: $25/h to $40/h (depends on location)
Summary
As a Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll work on a wide range of projects from optimizing, testing, and maintaining our existing apps, plus new features or apps. The ideal candidate should have a track record of success in deploying scalable, secure and reliable backend solutions on various cloud providers. They should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to communicate effectively with our other teams. The successful candidate should also be familiar with the latest technologies and trends in dev ops and backend development. A competitive salary will be offered to the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and optimize cloud-based infrastructure and services (AWS, Google Cloud… etc) for cost savings and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to manage code releases and to solve challenging development problems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in production and non-production environments.
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Configure and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, quality, and efficiency gains within the software development and deployment lifecycle, including improving existing deployment tools
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Django.
- Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git) for source code and infrastructure configurations.
- Ensure security and compliance requirements are met across infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and provide solutions.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and automation technologies.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with cloud deployment/ops/optimization
- Optimizing performance and cost across various cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Scalable development at least 10,000 DAUs and deployment to the cloud
- Serverless architectures and microservices
- Containerizing and deploying projects in various frameworks & languages, including Django & Python projects
- 3y+ of Database + query optimization, such as partitioning/sharding/ perf-opt, etc
- Strong DevOps background and professional experience applying DevOps and CI/CD concepts
- Understanding of DevOps principles and best practices
- RESTful architectures
- Knowledge of security best practices for mobile and web applications
- Automated testing frameworks
