Full Stack Engineer (US and Canada Only)

SimplyWise helps small businesses owners optimize all the boring admin, so they can get back to making money. Our apps have tens of thousands of paying customers. We are a team of less than 10 people, which means that each member has an enormous amount of responsibility and impact.

We are looking for a full stack engineer to join our team as a contract-to-hire (because it's important to us that it feels like an awesome fit on both sides).

What you'll do

• Be responsible for new product development, from initial concept through production and beyond.
• Prototype and deliver experiments at a high velocity to delight our customers.
• Inform the architectural direction of our codebase.
• Take part in discussions that range from product features, customer experience, technical architecture, experimental design. We believe in the power of being a generalist.

About you

• Technical/engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics.
• Be familiar with (Django AND Kubernetes) AND (React Native OR React)
• Practical problem solver, able to quickly weigh the pros/cons of technical decisions. You know how to measure effectiveness while avoiding over-analyzing.
• Love early stage startups and thrive in high-growth, ambiguous environments.
• Highly practical – you appreciate the business implications beyond engineering, and believe in building something people want instead of just coding for the sake of coding.
• An awesome person to spend time with (we’re not robots and you’re not either).
• Particularly awesome: Former founder and/or Full-Stack software engineering with experience in building from the ground up.
