About the job
At Buck Mason, we're dedicated to creating timeless, quality clothing that reflects our Californian spirit. We're looking for a Lead Knitting Technician to join our team — someone who lives and breathes the art of crafting exceptional knitwear. In this role, you'll be at the heart of bringing our designs to life, ensuring every stitch embodies our commitment to both enduring style and functionality.
Your Role:
- 1. Collaboration and Creation: Work hand-in-hand with our design team and Production Manager to transform concepts into prototypes and production-ready styles. You'll use top-notch yarns and materials to achieve the perfect visual appeal and functionality blend.
- 2. Machine Mastery: As a knitting maestro, you'll be the go-to for handling and maintaining various circular knitting machines. Repairing, adjusting, and making magic happen with different gauges and cuts is all in a day's work for you.
- 3. Team Leadership: Lead our knitting team, guiding them through daily tasks and ensuring deadlines are met for development and production.
- 4. Troubleshooting Expertise: When glitches arise, you'll be the problem-solving pro, fixing any defects in production and development with precision.
- 5. Oversight and Support: You'll oversee our knitting associates, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
Qualifications:
- 1. Master of the Machines: You've spent at least 15 years operating circular knitting machines, and you're a technical wizard when it comes to running various types.
- 2. Material Maestro: Your knowledge extends beyond just machines; you've got a deep understanding of yarn fibers, knit structures, and how they come together to create outstanding fabrications.
- 3. Mechanical & Electrical Savvy: You've got the knack for fixing machines, keeping them in top-notch condition, and ensuring the quality of fabrication remains impeccable.
- 4. Detail-Oriented & Organized: Reviewing manuals, samples, and specifications is your forte, and you're meticulous in logging every detail.
- 5. Team Player & Multitasker: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling tasks effortlessly while fostering good working relationships.
Physical Demands:
- You'll be on your feet, engaging in various physical activities such as standing, reaching, and occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs).
Work Environment:
- In operation for over a century, our factory is where you’ll work on a daily basis, directly contributing to the local history and keeping the spirit of craftsmanship alive.
