Senior Front End Engineer (NYC Only)

Looking for a front end engineer to build the main web portal for interacting with our new blockchain for cross-chain trading. You will have the full trust and autonomy to dive deep into various technical areas and independently deliver meaningful results helping our customers trade with more ease and delight.

You will join an all star team of engineers and product leaders from companies like Facebook, Robinhood and LinkedIn — together the team has scaled products to billions of people and millions in revenue. You will constantly be challenged, fostered, and motivated to grow to new heights.

Additionally, our non-dilutive token grant with early liquidity gives a significant edge in compensation over every other startup. If the company does well, you will be rewarded extremely well!

What is Blackwing?

Blackwing allows you to deposit in one place but trade across multiple chains and ecosystems without having to pay exorbitant transfer fees.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop core products in a 0 to 1 environment.
• Design engineering systems to deliver product needs while making appropriate tradeoffs between complexity, scalability, security, and development time.
• Build an understanding of financial products to help inform product decisions.
• Help define Blackwing’s engineering culture and best practices.

Location

We converted a beautiful apartment in Williamsburg off of the Bedford Ave L stop into an office and mostly work from there — it feels more like a home with better amenities than you can find a typical office. You're welcome to work a few days remotely, but ideally, you're working with us in person.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a track record of successfully leading projects and delivering large scope technical projects at scale.
• Is obsessive about developer experience. Consistently sets high standard for code quality, testing practices, and code review processes.
• Is deeply comfortable across different engineering disciplines and is confident diving into unknown areas.

• Shahmeer → Shahmeer worked at Robinhood for several years, leading development of their trading infrastructure. He is a world-class expert in financial engineering and product development.
• Salman → Salman built a company and sold it to LinkedIn, where he served as a Staff Engineer for the past six years focusing on product, growth, and new initiatives. Salman led mobile development for Rainbow Wallet, launching a swap aggregator ($15M/month volume) across multiple chains and fiat to crypto on-ramping rails.
