Role Description

As a Technical Writer specializing in API documentation, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between our development teams and external developers. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to create comprehensive, accurate, and easy-to-follow documentation for our APIs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather information and understand technical features and functionalities of our APIs.
• Organizing complex technical concepts into structured and coherent documentation that caters to varying levels of technical expertise.
• Creating API guides, reference materials, code samples, and tutorials to help developers integrate and use our APIs effectively.
• Ensuring that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the latest product releases.
• Maintaining a style guide and documentation best practices to maintain consistency across all API documentation.
• Gathering feedback from developers and stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and usability of the documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, specifically focused on API documentation.
• Solid understanding of API concepts, RESTful API design principles, and HTTP protocols.
• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and engaging technical content for a developer audience.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or others, to understand and articulate code examples.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) and documentation tools (Swagger, Postman, etc.) is a plus.
• Prior experience in the software development industry is highly desirable.
