Technical Co-Founder

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our founding team in a leadership role, helping shape our tech strategy as we get ready to launch our MVP.

About Afya:
Afya is an early-stage SaaS startup on a mission to make managing a fitness business easy and efficient. Our small but mighty team of engineers, product folks, and UX experts are also fitness enthusiasts, and we’ve built award-winning software for some of the biggest brands out there.

Right now, we’re fully engaged with personal trainers and boutique fitness studios to understand their unique needs. We’ve validated an early product and are building out a platform to bring those insights to life. We’re currently in the midst of launching our MVP and looking for someone to help us cross the finish line and set the stage for our future growth. After the MVP, we’ll be exploring how to leverage AI to make the platform even smarter and more streamlined.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead development across the full stack with Django, React, and mobile tech for iOS and Android.
• Help define and drive our tech strategy while providing guidance and mentorship to the team.
• IIntegrate AI to enhance our platform’s core features, making it more efficient and scalable.
• Manage our cloud infrastructure to keep our systems secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Play a role in enhancing our MVP, ensuring a robust and scalable product.
• Work closely with the founding team to shape big-picture product decisions and long-term vision.

Ideal Candidate:

• Versatile Full Stack Developer with expertise in Django, React, and mobile development.
• A track record of technical leadership in early-stage startups.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a drive for building high-quality software.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Can guide teams through critical product phases.

Compensation:
Afya is currently bootstrapped and wrapping up our first fundraising round. Starting compensation will be equity-based, with plans to transition to a paid salary as soon as funding is secured. While we’re pre-compensation, part-time work is totally fine as we work toward our funding goals.
