Role: DevOps Engineer Internship
Location: Remote
Duration: 4 months Unpaid Intership with the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity
About the role:
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer Intern to join our team. The DevOps Engineer Intern will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary for our software development and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automation, containerization, and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and tools: As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools needed for software development and operations. This includes creating and managing virtualized environments, setting up network configurations, and creating automated scripts and workflows.
Develop and maintain deployment pipelines: You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining deployment pipelines for continuous integration and delivery. This involves creating and managing automated workflows that can help speed up the development process and ensure that code is properly tested and deployed.
Collaborate with development teams: DevOps Engineers work closely with development teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of systems. You will work with developers to identify and resolve issues that could impact the performance of the system, and help develop and implement solutions to prevent such issues from occurring in the future.
Monitor and troubleshoot production issues: As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for monitoring the system for production issues and outages. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting these issues and working with the appropriate teams to resolve them.
Implement and manage security policies and procedures: Another important responsibility of a DevOps Engineer is to implement and manage security policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that proper security protocols are in place to protect sensitive data, and regularly testing and auditing the security of the system.
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends: DevOps Engineers must stay current with new technologies and industry trends. You will need to research new tools and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the infrastructure. You will also be responsible for identifying areas where the system can be improved or made more efficient, and recommending changes to the appropriate teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field.
- Strong experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
