Job summary
Point is looking for an experienced Home Equity Underwriter to join our Manila team. In this role, you'll analyze property and financial data to make approval recommendations, send offers to homeowners, and ensure compliance with company guidelines. You'll collaborate with Account Managers, Processors, and Closers to deliver top-tier customer service.

Employees meeting performance criteria and hybrid work arrangement guidelines can transition to hybrid work after 6 months, pending internal approval.
Job responsibilities
- Review Home Equity Investment (HEI) applications and documentation in accordance with the company's underwriting guidelines.
- Request supporting documentation from homeowners.
- Review the property’s title report to ensure the correct lien position and collaborate with the processor to ensure a clean title.
- Track the status of all applications in the underwriter’s pipeline and provide updates to the appropriate teams when needed.
- Make the final underwriting decision to approve or reject an application.
Qualifications and skills
- 1+ years of experience with underwriting US mortgage loans
- Understanding of general US mortgage underwriting principles and lending guidelines.
- Experience with US mortgage modifications and the ability to analyze a title report is a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets.
- Ability to work autonomously to deliver individual goals and support team outcomes.
- A desire to deliver an uncommon level of quality customer service.
- Excited about joining a later-stage tech company, interested in real estate, interested in fintech.
