Alation is seeking to hire a Senior Revenue Accountant who will report to the Revenue Accounting Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company and participate in building a best-in-class revenue team that is driving efficient and scalable processes.
This role is also open to remote work within the United States.
What You'll Be Doing
- Evaluate customer contracts to ensure that revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with 606 and company policy
- Develop whitepaper or accounting memos to support the company’s position or policy election on certain revenue recognition issues
- Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls over revenue transactions and reporting
- Assist in driving efforts to build best-in-class, automated processes related to revenue accounting
- Participate in the monthly/quarterly revenue accounting close
- Participate in the re-implementation of Netsuite ARM
- Prepare large-scale ad hoc analyses
- Help prepare supporting data and other requests for external auditors as well as business partners
You Should Have
- 3+ years of experience required, at least 2 in public accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Big 4 CPA a plus
- Working knowledge of ASC 606
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills as we deal with team members at every level of the organization
- Able to work with and analyze large data sets
- Proficient with complex projects in Excel
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated, able to work independently, motivated to implement improvements, to inspire change while staying within the company’s culture being collaborative and inclusive
Base Salary Target: $106,425 - $138,125
The base salary range is specific to the United States. The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location, specialty and training. If the final candidate has a different level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or higher than what is published.
