The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our product team. Our new software engineer will work alongside Product Managers, Designers, and other engineers to ideate, scope and build features across our product offerings.

The Role
As a full-stack software engineer, you will help us build our core products. You'll build, test, and learn new features based on your squad's mission, either driving growth, increasing engagement, or product improvements. You will grow a product that currently spans websites built in React, Next.js, LiveView, and our backend system built in Elixir & Phoenix. Prior experience with these languages is valuable. You will need to excel at working collaboratively within your squad. You will learn a lot about how the capital markets operate and how best to support our clients.

The Team
The product team is made up of several small, multi-disciplinary squads. These squads are focused on solving a specific problem. To achieve this the team starts with a hypothesis and builds, tests, and iterates based on their findings. In these teams, everyone is expected to be a problem solver first. You will be in an environment that is dedicated to learning and growth. While squads are able to act autonomously, we are an incredibly supportive product team and you will be supported by the organisation at large.

We’ve recently adopted a hybrid office/remote setup, allowing a balance between WFH and coming into the Melbourne CBD office a couple of times a week to foster collaboration and team building.

Who we are looking for

  • You have a background in software or web development, a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or other relevant fields.
  • You have the ability to ideate and execute creative solutions in a dynamic environment
  • You experiment with new languages, best practices, and problems
  • You have demonstrated commercial experience in Typescript, React, Next.js or GraphQL
  • Bonus points if you have experience in any of the following: GCP, AWS, Elixir, Liveview
  • You have 3+ years of experience in software development

Within the first month, you'll

  • Get up to speed with the tech stack
  • Fortnightly one-on-one with one of our senior developers to set up your career goal
  • Contribute to pushing user-facing features into production

Within the first year, you'll

  • Be a part of ideating, scoping, building and iterating on multiple features in production
  • Join one of our tech guilds to learn and improve our best practices in an area you choose
