Government Security, Privacy & NIST Lead

Dreamers Inc. is a research and software consultancy built around high performance with low stress. We like working on interesting things, learning from each other, and teaching each other. Sometimes that means self-driving tractors, satellite boards, natural language processing engines, quantum computing, physical robotics, or government systems that need to work correctly for real people. Other times it means web and mobile apps, and those can be pretty cool, too.

We are looking for a senior security and privacy practitioner who can help a small technical team make defensible decisions in government and regulated environments.

The best fit is neither someone who only writes policy nor someone who only runs scanning tools. We need a person who can understand an actual system, identify material risks, translate controls into practical engineering work, and explain the result clearly to clients, evaluators, and developers.

Relevant experience may include:

• NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, RMF, FedRAMP, ATO, and POA&M work
• Privacy impact assessments and sensitive-data handling
• HIPAA, CJIS, SOC 2, or comparable regulated environments
• Cloud architecture and secure software delivery
• Vendor security questionnaires and control mapping
• Threat modeling, security assessments, and remediation planning
• AI security, privacy, or NIST AI RMF

CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, cloud-security, privacy, or comparable certifications are particularly useful when backed by hands-on delivery.

Contract rate range: $110-$170/hour USD.

We are building a trusted bench ahead of anticipated government and regulated-system awards. Some work may be a focused assessment or advisory engagement; other work may involve ongoing participation throughout delivery.
