Trail is changing the way hospitality is run.
From independent coffee shops to enterprise pub chains, to favourite spots like Honest Burger, wagamama and Black Sheep. We build tools to simplify the daily jobs teams do each day. And we need your help ✊
6 years ago, our competitive advantage was timing - we were designing a new category. Now, it’s social proof and a tightly focused, well designed product.
B2B Sales drove growth, but then came 2020. Our customers stuck with us but the landscape had clearly changed.
We’ve spent the last 2 years updating the product to full self-service, opening new markets and whole new opportunities for product-led growth. And we’re just getting started.
We’re now looking for a Growth Engineer to help us scale to the next level, both in the UK and internationally.
How we work:
Trail has always been remote-first. There’s an optional London office where all 20 of us gathered every 2 weeks (and aim to continue in the spring).
There are three teams - Growth, Product and Customers. You’ll be part of the Growth team, spanning Self Service and Sales, working across the full funnel.
We’re a small, focussed team using growth methodologies to experiment and iterate. We seek to continually improve our growth metrics — from cost of customer acquisition to conversion rate to page speed. Projects could be anything from optimising the performance of the website to automating email campaigns to running scripts to localise the website for new geographies.
Day-to-day, you will:
As Growth Engineer you’ll be focussed on top of funnel conversion, split between Self Service and Sales enablement. You’ll have a technical focus, working with our Head of Growth to identify new opportunities to engage our target audiences. You’ll work closely with the customer ops and sales teams to make sure solutions fit the full funnel.
- Be responsible for the continual improvement of the marketing website. Updating and creating content in Webflow, running split tests to optimise conversion, making technical and SEO performance improvements
- Build out new growth experiments (leveraging scripts, scrapers, and APIs) based on behaviours or data you've identified
- Set up technical systems to increase the efficiency of the sales and marketing teams, optimising our inbound and outbound channels
- Uncover insights and create experiments, making data-driven conclusions to drive your next initiative
- Readily switch from updating the website, to A/B testing email copy to brainstorming new growth ideas with the team
- Contribute across full funnel Growth growth (Paid, Outbound, Organic, etc. ) overseeing end-to-end collaborative experiments.
A bit about you…
Must haves:
- Always on the look out for new growth opportunities, taking ownership of your incentives
- Thrive best when in action, identifying how to deliver value when juggling various user and business needs.
- The ability to pick up new tools quickly.
- Comfortable learning how to work with 3rd party APIs, CRM and digital marketing tools.
- You are comfortable with; UX, CRO, SEO and paid media
- A degree or equivalent practical experience
- Live within a realistic timezone for UK working hours
Nice to have:
- Web development experience (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Webflow, Hubspot & Zapier experience
- Understanding of scaling a product to other markets
- Experience of building organic, more cost effective mechanisms (such as email, SEO, Refer a Friend) to acquire customers.
- 2+ years at a tech company in a related growth role
What does Trail offer you?
- Competitive salary
- Minimum 25 days holiday
- A great working culture, trips abroad and work outings
- Healthcare
- Match contributory pension
Trail is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment - we celebrate the individuals that make us, us. We welcome people of all backgrounds to apply who are also passionate about making everyday work better.
